Death By Neon Damn this album is so addictive! More I listen to it and more I'm just in love with it. This would be without any doubt one of the best album out there this year. An instant Synthpop / Dreamwave classic who deserves to be in every fan of the scene's collection. Two thumbs up to Von Kaiser! Favorite track: Jetpacks.

Pretty Glass Folk I love the expertly crafted vocals here, the melodies and the lyrics are fantastic. The guitars are fresh and searing. Percussion is interesting and the album flow is stellar, I’ll be listening to this on my long night drives.

I’m in love with the abundance of great releases coming out of the synthwave scene right now. This album is no exception and a fine addition to my collection. Well done and congratulations, I can only aspire to make my debut LP this solid. Thank you! Favorite track: Shadowrun.

about

Von Kaiser Michigan

Founded in 2018, Von Kaiser is a collection of three musicians who don’t just want to remember the music, movies and video games of the 1980s, they want to celebrate it. With their debut album “Landline”, Von Kaiser has created a vocal synthwave album that travels between the darkness of post apocalyptic futures, the innocence of high school prom dances, and the freedom of cruising the open road. ... more

Track Name: Armitage
Turbine engines all fired up, reaching our maximum cruising speed.
A mission to discover all of the reasons, and it must succeed. Simulations run on hard drives have prepared us to save lives.
Future generations will thank us, or we'll all die trying.

Save our souls, encrypted and uploaded in code.
Save our souls, for the future of the waking world.
We see the light at the end tunnel, right before we are born again.
Save our souls, before we disappear into the darkness again.

Massive memory upgrades all queued up, updating system some file data corrupt.
Malicious virus meant to wipe us out, we don't even know about.
Simulations run on hard drives have prepared us to save lives.
Future generations will thank us, or we'll all die trying.
Track Name: Jetpacks
We Grew up with posters on our walls, the Pepsi generation, thought we'd seen it all.
Brightly lit future with flying cars and we'd all be super stars.
Energy is endlessly, entertaining us violently.
Commercials play on TV, and nothing was ever free.

We were young, we were full of it, we had it down and stayed silent.
We worked hard; we were self aware, made mistakes that land us anywhere,
With corded phones and tape machines, you could do anything, if you just believed.
Commercials play on TV, and nothing was ever free.

Time flies, so fast in an instant flash, I could drive all night going anywhere,
Life moves so fast like an instant flash, I could fly all night going everywhere.

He was the kid everyone would tease, he wore old clothes and fake Nikes.
He liked computers and Atari games, always wanted friends but kids can be mean.
He played the keyboard, loved the music scene, formed a band that we all pay to see.
It's funny how people see all the rockstars on MTV.

Wait for, wait for nightfall, wait for, wait for tme tonight
Track Name: Black Rain
The click of heels on a lonely street,
get in the car and drive all night,
flickering, dying neon lights,
the drones are searching the city tonight.
Searching tonight.

Data stream moving down the display,
driving faster down a busy one way,
setting our sights got the target right
It's just matter of time, it's just a matter of time.

Black Rain falling on the city streets, uh oh.
When we left before the sun, it had started before we'd ever begun.
Black rain falling on the city streets, uh oh

Killing time at the tech noir,
meeting our contact, we've come so far,
data drive, exchange goes fast,
got what we came for, the time won't last.
We're moving so fast.

Follow me to where you want to be.
Follow me to where, I'll make you see.
Follow me to where you want to be.
Follow me to where your mind is free.
Track Name: Landline
Payphone smells like cigarettes,
semi trucks are silhouettes, moving quickly in the darkness.
You answer on the 5th ring,
Sounding sleepy and alone on the telephone.

I'm barely awake when the phone rings
I've had a busy night downtown,
And your voice sounds good on the other end,
My body's aching and I want you,
Why don't you come over for a drink or two?

Speeding to get there on time,
The soft feel of your skin on mine.
Rushing to be where I want to be,
Your kiss, I can't wait, tonight.

Call you back just to let you know,
Massive storm, stuck out in the snow.
All I can think of is you.
The flakes look like falling stars between the cars.

Lying here, I can't wait
Thinking of your touch, It's hard to take
I promise I will stay awake.
For you, I'll do anything.
Track Name: Flashbacks
From Bonfires to the tallest spires,
I've seen it all before through someone else's eyes.
You Never decide; it's journey undertaken without compromise,
Ending with our lives.
Now we're all grown up and know about everything,
The magic's all gone with the video arcade.

I'll never hear that sound again,
I'll never get back where it all began.
I'll never be the age I was before.
I'll never be the same again.

The City blocks roll past and I forget why I ever moved back,
The soft scent of her perfume stuck to the passenger seat
Headrest all tilted back; colors moving, changing shape before fading to black.
Now we're all grown up and know about everything,
The magic's all gone with the video arcade.

Drop the quarter in the slot,
Press the button, everything is lost.
Leave your life behind.
Ready, begin...
Level one. your chance to shine....
Track Name: Shadowrun
I told her I loved her; probably wasn't smart
She's coming for me; she'll probably sell me for parts
I've got the word out on the street tonight
She's coming for me and she's looking for a fight

I'm gonna get mine in 2029

Make no mistake, I'll get what I deserve
She's got a shotgun hiding inside that coat of hers.
Track Name: Night Driver
My mind keeps searching for, all the answers to this ancient lore,
More questions come up as my life unfolds,
These futures untold, molecules separate young from old,
Timeline crashes together at the end of it all,
What do we become when we're all gone?

We shift our energy, transcending physical reality,
All that was and all that will ever be.
We perceive what we touch and see,
Never believing metaphysically,
All that was and all that will ever be.

The world, holds the secrets that, we don't understand:
All best laid plans of mice and men,
A dark starry sky, to the color of your eyes,
Disappearing like a sunset into the night.
Track Name: Stars & Satellites
Galaxy... wanted to see everyone.
Spent all my time looking up, should have spent some time looking back.
When we first met, I was so focused on you.

All the Stars & Satellites, the longest night of my life,
We were focused on the sun, each and everyone.

My Tether snaps, I hurdle into space,
They can't get me back, can't bring me back.
I'm down this side of oblivion without oxygen. I realize, I never said it enough,
I was never good with words, always tongue tied with all nouns and verbs.
Track Name: Mixtape
I remember the day, boombox and the hit parade,
making my own names up for songs we played.
I wrote my love in sharpie on the back,
hoping you'd like all of the tracks, it was the greatest of days.

I remember the day, waiting on the radio DJ,
so hard to get it timed out right, hit record and play.
I wrote my love in sharpie on the back
hoping you'd like all of the tracks, it was the greatest of days.

I Couldn't wait to play that tape,
Cause you made it for me, yeah you made it for me.
I couldn't wait, all the time it takes
and you made it for me, yeah you made it for me.
Track Name: Blood Moon
It's obviously crazy, you wouldn't believe me if I told you,
I live a life I chose, but who knows?
The dark club where we always meet, She's always ready and so discrete,
She acts just like a girl with all the other guys,
But I know the secret everyone denies.

You show up in the middle of the night, won't come in, unless you get an invite.
I am the same girl that you've always known, with a darker appetite.
You show up in the middle of the night, won't come in, unless you get an invite.
I am the same girl that you've always known, with a bloody, crimson bite

Those eyes mesmerize,
like the tail lights of a car in the dark,
Like a fog over the ocean,
All crushed velvet and leather thigh-highs,
She acts just like a girl with all the other guys,
But I know the secret that she hides.
Track Name: Wolfhart
Black clouds rise overhead, the news report says there's a storm ahead,
Manic depressive, unread internet message, I don't want to think and feel, Tell me how to think and feel,
When I close eyes to the sights, they just become my own midnights.
When I close eyes to the sights, they just become my private fights.

Open up my eyes, tired from sleep, like a wolf in the dark, showing its teeth,
Hoping to find, some peace of mind, we're walking in the world, just like lost sheep.

Images reflected back, another attack. from the glow of the screen,
I can't always put together what they mean,
Traveling farther than I thought I'd ever be, a child dreams but not like me
When I close eyes to the sights, they just become my own midnights.
When I close eyes to the sights, they just become my private fights.
Track Name: Transporter
Bought a ticket going anywhere, if I could I'd leave the atmosphere.
Blast off for bigger skies, try a new planet on for size.
Got my credits and my bags all packed, a big decision I'm not coming back.
Got the details all set, nothing stopping me and no regret.

Maybe I'll become someone else, change my name or just be myself.
Maybe I'll meet lonely soul, someone like me or just be alone.

I swear tonight I'm just gonna go, just gotta get the nerve to be alone,
You don't know - I've big plans, I'll show everyone just who I am.
Truth is I'm just scared to leave, maybe I'll just stay and see,
Got the details all set, nothing stopping me and no regret.
Track Name: ETA
They tell me It’s terminal, as the diagnosis sets in, with sinking dread, I feel so alone.
Two weeks to a month is all that’s left for me, and the treatment's not working and I can’t get out of bed.

I can’t tell how long I’ve been under, my mind is moving forward while my body’s in slumber.
I think about what it must be like out there.

Perhaps there’s a cure in the future ahead, they want to freeze me or I’m left for dead. How can I refuse? What should I do?

Time in slow motion as the years slip by,
Cryogenically trapped in my own mind
Waking up to a world I don’t recognize,
I can’t function here, please put me back.

This wasn’t the future we were supposed to have,
all the best of intentions disastrously planned,
I can’t stay here, it’s not my time
Send me back.

They’ve cured my illness, I'm finally free, As I wander these streets, I still feel diseased,
What happened to the world we left behind?

Perhaps there’s a cure in the future ahead, we have to do something or we’re all left for dead. How can we refuse?
What should I do?
